Before you buy a pet, better know your rights.

Apr. 10–Mark and Jana Anello suspected something was wrong from the moment they brought a 4-month-old macaw home from a local pet store. After just one night, during which the bird was coughing, they found the $900 macaw dead in its cage.

“My daughter was crying. The kids were upset,” said Jana Anello, who said the pet’s death left her four children stunned. “I told them the bird was sick and there was nothing we could have done.”

The Pembroke Pines couple returned the dead bird to Beverly’s Pet Center, but were told an autopsy was needed before a refund could be issued. After two weeks of haggling, they got their $900 back, but the store’s return policy would not cover the $300 cage.

Mass. debates ’Cell Phone Bill of Rights’

Massachusetts politicians are debating what they call a first-in-the-nation "Cell Phone Bill of Rights." The bill's sponsor calls it a "Lemon Law" for cell phone users that would "address common cell phone annoyances by fixing dead zones, shortening contracts to one year and offering bills customers can understand." Why should the state make carriers pay for stupid users? If you can't choose a decent provider, know enough not to sign a 2-year agreement and read a bill, we think mobile technology may be beyond you at the current time. Interesting - when we think "Cell Phone Bill of Rights" we think of banning
