A House of Representatives committee has begun deliberations on a proposal to enact a law penalizing automotive firms for selling “lemon” cars. The chamber’s transportation committee, headed by Bacolod Rep. Monico O. Puentevella, has asked the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to submit comments and recommendations on House Bill (HB) No. 3517 or An Act to Enforce Warranties on the Sale of Motor Vehicles, and Imposing Penalties for Violations Thereof.
